Tips for Helping with Homework
- Create a routine
- Set a regular time for homework, like after school or in the evening. This helps your child know what to expect and makes homework a normal part of their day.
- Make space for homework
- Set aside time in your family schedule for homework. You can also try to avoid distractions.
- Help your child understand their homework
- If your child is struggling with homework, they might not understand what they're supposed to do.
- Encourage independence
- Don't force your child to do their homework. Instead, encourage them to work independently and take responsibility for their work.
- Praise your child
- Give your child lots of praise for their hard work and improved focus, handwriting, or presentation.
- Help your child manage their time
- Create a to-do list to help your child prioritise their tasks and know where to start.
- Consider what's due and when, and order your child's study time based on deadlines and importance.
- Engage with the class teachers
- Stay involved with Warwick Bridge School and the staff
